2 days plus lunch

A two day course for beginners and with some experience, which will approach drawing and painting intuitively.

The first morning will be spent working with ink, with brush and crude drawing tools on paper. The aim is to focus, above all, on looking, using still-life as a catalyst.

The afternoon will be spent working on a small preparatory oil sketch in order to get a feel for the paint and the subject matter.

We’ll continue with a second day working with oil paint using a limited palette of earth hues.

David will supply paper and some drawing materials, as well as prepared painting boards and oil painting medium. Students will supply hog-hair brushes and a range of oil paints (details to follow). Further information will be provided well ahead of your course.

David AP Thomas studied fine art painting at Cheltenham, Cardiff and Leeds and has painted continuously since leaving Cardiff in 1989. He has exhibited throughout the UK & in Norway.
